Chinese Government Scholarship - High Level Postgraduate Program is a sub-program of the Chinese Government Scholarship Type B Program. The program is based on the principles of “individual application, institutional recommendation, expert assessment and merit-based admission”, and selects international students with excellent academic background, professional ability, and future development potential. to study Master’s or Doctoral programs at CQU.

What Does The Scholarship Cover?

The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance. Specific funding standards are subject to the information on CSC website (https://www.campuschina.org).

ELIGIBILITY

1. The Applicant must be a Non-Chinese citizen with a valid ordinary-type passport, and in good physical and mental health.

2. Education and Age Requirements: Be an academically excellent holder of a Bachelor’s degree, under the age of 35 when applying for a Master’s program;be an academically excellent holder of a Master’s degree, under the age of 40 when applying for a Doctoral program;

3. Language proficiency requirements:

Applicants for English-taught programs whose native language is not English need to provide ①a score report of English language proficiency test (a score above IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL Internet-based 80 or equivalent), or ②a certificate from former university that the previous degree program was taught in English, or ③a certificate indicating the applicants have studied in an English-speaking country for more than one year.

Applicants for Chinese-taught programs need to provide ①a valid score report of HSK Level 5 (≥180) , or ②a certificate proving that the previous degree program was taught in Chinese at a Chinese university

4. Applicants must meet the minimum academic performance requirement, which is a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or a score of at least 80 out of 100.

5. Applicants should not be holding any other scholarships.

Online Application

1. Applicants submit their applications to the “Chinese Government Scholarship Management Information System” at https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login. Choose program Type B. The agency number of Chongqing University is 10611.

2. Applicants submit their applications to Chongqing University’s Online Application System at https://cqu.17gz.org/member/login.do and pay the application fee (400 RMB, non-refundable) online. Applications without payment of the required application fee will not be processed or reviewed.
